I have a roller shredder and it's great but it does tend to block fairly easily with very green wood or fibrous stuff. It's easy to clear but you have to keep an eye on it. Quiet though.

I borrowed a JCB one to shred brambles - I think it took as much time as manually chopping them up would have done. I guess they work for doing a few branches but I needed something more like the one in Fargo

what are you going to use it for? If you throw something like leylandaii through that,it'll clog up. feed it some rose cuttings, budlia or ash branches & it'll run all day like a hungry Koala.

I've got an older bosch mill shredder (like the one you're looking at) & my dad has the Lidl special buy version. The bosch is much less susceptible to clogging. My dad's is on his third warranty replacement. We've had bearing housings fail, a burnt out motor & one that simply refused to accept  the waste bin was in place. I fed mine a table once. It just chomped away at it without complaint.

If you've serious stuff to clear, then hire a flail drum shredder. Bricktop's Pigs wouldn't get a look in.

what are you going to use it for?

The never ending mountain of shrubs and trees in my garden.

I have loads of Holly, rhododendron, and privet which doesn't really need a shredder to dispose of as long as I keep hacking away at it regularly with the hedge trimmers.

The shredder is mostly for  woody shrubs and trees which i'm never done trimming back.

Lime, Hawthorn, Lilac, roses,  and about 20-ish  metres  of massively overgrown privet which has stretched to reach the light.

It'll get a lot of use.

The Bosch one Hot Fiat has sounds like the one my mum bought about 10 years ago, which has found it's way into my shed since mum's too fragile to do gardening, these days. It's a beast, but tends to clog with very leafy green growth. Woody stuff, beast!

We've now got a fancy Bosch one with a conical chomping blade in it and it's pretty damn good.  Wouldn't take a whole pig, but a front leg would be no problem.  It seems to stay really clear and only gets a bit stuck with lots of loose green stuff but even that falls through eventually - way way way way way way way way way way way better than the spinny blade one we had before.

Hire one. Need it once a year or so and domestic ones won't really do the business when it comes to decent sized shrubs and branches.

Mrs Gti just throws the debris on the lawn for me to chop up with the mower, then chuck on the compost heap.

Yeah spinny blade ones are poo. Unless you spend a LOT of money on one. eBay often has some second hand bargains.

Got one like the op’s. different brand / badge. Is ok not perfect. Likes straight bits, forks and lumpy bits fail to go through. It is often easier to just. Cut by hand. The catch / safety on the waste tub gets bits of chipped wood stuck in and stops it working. Need to put harder sticks in with the leafy bits to drag it through.

FWIW I have had a Bosch 2200 AXT for the last 7 years and can recommend it. I use it a lot and the only time it gets clogged is when I stuff too much into it. Spare blades are easy to pick up or just sharpen yourself.
