Hi STW hive mind.
Got a few days spare and when I am not riding and cleaning the bike I would like to kill a few hours and have fun on the PC. Intel i5 7400@3Gz with 8Gb 10664RAM and Radoen R7 200 1GB GDDR5. So quite old. What do you suggest?
Last game I finished was the half life series, so seriously out of date.
See what's free on the Epic store at the moment? I have about 30 games I haven't played from there.
FTL.
Will run on owt. Is **** brill. About 3 quid.
You'll die. A lot.
Other than that - Dead Cells. Trust me.
70% off of The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt Game of the Year Edition on Steam at the moment; it's an absolute gem.
Life is Strange. Episodic story-driven game, first episode is free. One of the best games I've played in years.
Untitled Goose Game.
If you want something more involved look at Warframe (free to play).
That's not as old as my rig so should be good for a lot of modern titles albeit not on Ultra settings.
Team fortress 2
Portal 1&2
2 in particular is just a fabulous game, funny and rewarding...
And... just 71 of your English pence on Steam...

In fact you can get these, Counterstrike and TF2 for a tenner..
Doom is £5 on Steam at the moment
Doom (2016) is great fun. Will probably run on your machine. Might give it a playthrough during the holidays.
Other cheapo suggestions - Inside and Limbo - 2D sidescrollers but absolutely brilliant, particularly Inside.
Portal series and Doom are fantastic, Doom is just absolutely relentless.
Hollow Knight is a superb little game as is Dead Cells. The Witcher 3 is one of my all time favourite games.
If you have it linked up to the interweb, Rocket League.
Short games, ~7mins per "Rumble" match I play a lot, but you can lose hours!
I really liked the Stanley parable, hard to describe what it's like, it's very unique.
Dead Cells - Is the one I have gone for.
Thanks all.
