16gb would be tiny for any current hard drive.

Depends on the intended usage, which hasn't been specified. Only that it's to be 16Gb.

Yep, 16GB is pretty small. Did you mean 160GB? And does it need to be 'rugged', or anything like that?

I doubt you could even find a 16Gb drive, my 2003 PowerBook had an 80Gb HDD, you'd be going back to before 1999 to find anything with storage that small. You can get a 64Gb stick for around £40.
My iPod Nano has 16Gb storage, that's flash memory, so you could use a Nano in data mode as a drive.
This is the only thing I could find, a 16Gb wifi-enabled portable drive:
http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-Wi-Drive-Pocket-sized-WID-16GBZ/dp/B00576APBQ
Everything else is flash-memory stick format, 16Gb would cost you about 8 or 9 quid.

Google Drive gives you 15GB for free and is on an external hard drive in a computer in a data centre somewhere 😉

Does anyone get the feeling the op didn't realised he'd pressed 'post'?
