My Dyson is complete rubbish, it picks up well but gets clogged literally every 30 seconds with dog hair (it's a pet one too).
Its replacement must have a motorised brush head. I know the newer Dysons are better as the dust cylinder thing is bigger, but I don't want to give James Dyson any more of my money. What else is worth considering?
TIA
Shark anti hair wrap. We use it as a main vacuum.
I got a special offer on a Samsung a few years ago. It's been my daily driver ever since. Without fault.
Battery is decent and none of the Dyson issues I've had with the Dyson batteries in the past.
Most come with an effective powered brush. Mine copes well with two teenage daughters whose hair appears to rival Rapunzel. Build quality excellent too.
Basically everything the Dyson's should be.
They are spendy, but feels very well worth it. Hunt around for special offers and you can get them at a decent discount. There's £50 off here, but you might find better.
Another vote for Shark anti hair wrap, ours has been brilliant.
Vax blade 4 here, loads better than the Gtech it replaced. The (2.5 year old) battery died the other week but they sent out a new one free of charge with no hassle which I was impressed with.
We got a Halo from Capsuleclean recently. Seems pretty good so far. Way better than our old cordless Bosch.
We don't have a dog so can't comment on animal hair collection.
My mum has a dog and loves her Shark. It is pretty good but doesn't have a handheld 'dustbuster' mode, only an upright floor cleaning configuration if thatakes sense.

Shark.
Got a small handheld, and a bigger one for the floors.
Easily does all of the 3 bed semi we are in.
Really good customer service too.
Had a problem the small one (my fault, I clogged its filter with brick dust) and a single phone call got it sorted. And an accessory kit I ordered was missing a part, again one phone call and complete new kit dispatched immediately.
We have a cordless Shark, the anti hair wrap isnt perfect, and thats on human hair, not sure about doggos.
But apart from that its ace, we also have a mains powered one for a deeper clean

Anyway - I was thinking about replacing our Dyson V10 but when I looked at alternatives none seemed better - no extra suction - so I stuck with it. I use the cheapo Aldi compressor to clean the filters 🙂
Had a Shark, it was rubbish. The main point of the powered head is to rip fibres out of your carpet so it looks like it's collecting dirt. Gave up on cordless and bought a corded Miele - no regrets.
Shark anti hair wrap. We use it as a main vacuum.
+1
Awesome, we have four cats and it's very good at cleaning up after them....
We have a Shark with the spinny head thing. It gets clogged all the time with dog hair, won't be buying another.

the new anti hair wrap one?
Another vote for the Shark, it replaced a rubbish Dyson hand held, it is now almost exclusively used, the corded Dyson rarely comes out. Unlike the Dyson the batteries last, are interchangeable and it picks up pretty well. Anti hair wrap technology works a lot better than the Dyson ever did.
i've 2 shark cordless ones (duo clean, so the lift away dust-buster function too)... one old, one new with anti hair wrap..
Both are brilliant... having to wash the filters quite a bit at the mo as doing lots of DIY, so fine dust gets into teh foam filter .
easy enough though!

the new anti hair wrap one?
No, it's a few years old but the heads are not the problem and easily cleaned, it's the actual hose, or at least the section at the end of the handheld unit. Blocks all the time meaning I have to dig out all the crud, which is fun!
Recently got a shark cordless with anti hair wrap. Very pleased with it so far. Handles our long hair cats just fine. Battery lasts long enough to vac round the whole house and then some.
Far better than the old Vax it replaced, which kept burning through floor heads at an alarming rate.

😁 Well, you know, not for concours shows or exhibitions. Taken out in all weathers. No track days and probably the occasional tip run.
Cordless Shark pet thing ordered 👍. Thanks
I have a Dyson V10, it's great. I also have a dog.
Bucking the trend.
