I mowed a door mat today (accidentally) and it died after 15 year's service, a Flymo 360 Compact. So something similar please. Garden is 10m x8m.

Fanks

Yeah, I've got the little bosch, permanent loan from my parents actually (think they might have bought when theirs was in for repairs or something), has done a good job for almost a decade now. Current model looks much the same.

I've just replaced a Bosch Rotak 40 which had been a trusty servant for many years. Poor reviews of the current models put me off buying a new one so ended up with a Cobra GTRM which seemed to get positive feedback. A few cuts in and it does the job well.

On our second Bosch Rotak, first one died after many years. We have a reasonable sized lawn to mow - was over 100m2 back when we had the first.

They do a nice close cut, 20mm is the lowest setting on ours, which is pretty much all I use.

Another Bosch here. Copes admirably with long grass - which it often has to!

And another Bosch here.....pretty good and does all I ask if it. Always on 50mm cut to help the grass survive dog/grandkids/drought.

I used to sell lawnmowers and we never ever got any Bosch Rotaks back faulty. I bought one recently and it still seems as good.

Another vote for the Bosch, i got excited recently thinking it had died (i want a cordless one) but turned out the fuse had blown in the extension. Really goid mower, nice cut, only downside for me us the collection box could be better designed.

My Bosch Rotak 320er broke this afternoon. Only a year old and the plastic holding the roller in place snapped. The replacement bit was only £4.50, so ordered that rather than take it back to B&Q and landfill.

Also have a Rotak 40. Cuts very well and has lasted 5 years of fairly heavy use.

Downside is it feels like a plasticky POS. When I got it it was noticeably cheaper feeling than my dad's older version of the same mower. I think they've tried very hard to keep it at a certain price point and made it out of materials to suit.

oh for sure its plastic fantastic but i haven't broken anything off it yet!

i also agree about the basket filling , if the grass is slightly damp its a pain in the hoop. i normally just ditch the box and prop the door open a bit in that situation.

Had about 4 Rotaks here. The older ones are heavier and more agricultural but also tougher IMO. The newer ones are lighter and smoother but made of cheese.

Replacement parts like triggers and cords are easy to source.
