Time for a bit of xmas decadence. Co-op closes in an hour or two, what should I go buy and mix up for a little treat.

Sloe Royale... 1 part sloe gin to 4 parts champagne/prosseco. Watch out though, it is a massive accelerant!

Not sycophantic, but nice to have you back. (Are you Edward Snowden?)

However...

Co-op

yet...

Kahlua.

No good. 4 tins of Tuna, WAS £74.99, NOW £4, yes.

Kahluna, I doubt it.

That's rich coming from someone who's suggestion involved milk

Nice one lapierrelady - I've just dug out the 9 year old sloe gin and we're now drinking Sloe Royales.

Very nice!

G&Ts are great.

This is a bit more Christmassy:

Equal parts Baileys, Grand Marnier and Kahlua. Shaken over ice.

1 part Bailey's

1 part Jack Daniels

No idea what it's called but got myself very messy on them a few Xmases back.

Edit: Jack the Knife according to Google. We didn't know about the recipe when we mad them it's all that was left in the cupboard.

Crunchie nut cornflake cake:

Mead
Frangelico
Creme de Cacao
Milk
Ice

Long Island iced tea is really for those days where you don't want to wake up until next week 🙂

Also a big fan of dark rum and pineapple. I am odd though.

My take on a Mai Tai

1 part White Bacardi rum
1 part Gold Bacardi rum
1/2 part of Cointreau orange liqueur
1/2 part of Amaretto Disaronno liqueur
1/2 part Grenadine
Juice of a lime
Lots of fresh pineapple juice
Plenty of ice

Best made by the jug full, only thing that doesn't give me a hangover.

Capirinha or Margaritas are staples at BigJohn Towers. I took a bottle of Cachaca up to the lakes last weekend on our annual long weekend (8 blokes) . Didn't bring much of the bottle back as we were all doing shots. Until the YHA warden shouted at us for playing music too loud and drinking in the dorm.

A classic Martini is hard to beat. Gin & Ice, basically.

Black or white russian, even feels appropriately festive.

Or, snapping turtle- peach schnapps, blue curacao, orange juice and double fat cream- pour the cream carefully onto the top then give it a gentle stir to break it up into blobs, then drink through a straw. It's like an alcoholic lava lamp.

When you want to go to sleep you need to warm the milk and do 50/50 with the Kahlua, it'll knock you right out.

Some of these sound bloody awful. French 75, 1 gin, half simple syrup, half lemon juice, topped up with champagne. Hits you like the eponymous artillery shell.

Gin & Ice, basically.

Whisper the word vermouth to it and bow in the direction of France.

That jack Daniels honey is quite nice from the freezer, might try the sloe gin and fizz. Whiskey mack is my winter fave, got to be stones though, not the same with crabbies. Cement mixer is good fun if you want to play a trick on someone, a large shot of baileys and a shot of lime cordial, curdles in the mouth, disgusting.
