with somewhere to go or something to do nearby(ish).

Basically a group of us are going around Easter bank holiday time with different aged kids (from 1-16years). We have been to Burnbake on the Isle of Purbeck a few times with its lovely woodsy, higgidly piggidly camp spots, open fires, etc and want something similar (without BH traffic hassles).

Wiltshire, Hampshire, Dorset or even Gloustershire

Thanks

p.s. not going for the riding (boohoo).

Wellington Country Park, just outside Reading. It even has dinosaurs!

The Barge Inn at Honey Street, near Pewsey.
It's on the Kennet-Avon canl path (cyclable), behind a pub, nice n flat. Just watch the kids don't fall in the canal.
