I was a digital subscriber to New Scientist, but couldn't justify the price I paid for the amount I actually read. I'd read a few articles after subscribing then forget about it.
Currently looking at Science News, but what what recommendations do you have please?
I use Flipboard, you can specify the type of news you’re interested in when you set it up. Been using it from the beginning, I get a lot of science news, as well as music, literature, aviation, all sorts of things, really.
Ah thanks Flipboard sounds good.
I like ARS Techinca, it's not just science but if that's all you want you could head straight to their science section;
https://arstechnica.com/science/
ARS Techinca here also
Does your library provide Libby access? You can read New Scientist for free online that way (and 100's of other magazines)
If you've got a bit of a science base you could look at Nature or Science. Two most important, most opinion-forming scientific journals in the world which cover the entirety of science, plus a lot of commentary and summaries of the papers written for a general audience. Even the primary papers are meant to be written in an accessible style.
This is the source material for a lot of the science that gets reported in the wider media, and I believe most of the stuff is open access now (at least Nature).
You wouldn't expect to just browse them like a magazine, a lot of it will be impenetrable, but there's so much there and it defines what is currently considered important in Science (actual scientists may disagree!)
Another vote for ARS technica from me
Graham Hancock's News Desk has some interesting articles from various science, nature and history publications. It's worth dipping into once in a while if that sort of thing floats your boat.
This is good - updates from UK universities, and not only science, but a broader perspective. Not an "all the science news" source but useful.
