As above looking for a weekend away with Mrs FD (may or may not take bikes)
Doesn't have to be mega posh, just clean and nice.and reasonably quiet.
Thanks
Beehive in Combs has a Holiday Cottage, nice quiet village and only 15-20 mins from Edale/Castleton.
We stayed at The Sportsman in Hayfield, no complaints. On the Pennine BW and room for the bikes.
The strines oub has rooms, lovely little pub
For pure riding convenience, the Ladybower Inn is good. Accommodation, food, service etc are satisfactory (no more, no less).
The setting is cracking, though. And flying out of the end of the descent, slamming on the brakes and walking ten yards to a pint is hard to beat!
Chequers Inn below Froggatt Edge is great. Excellent food, four posters, that sort of thing. Fox House and Castle Inn both decent and part of the Vintage Inn group. All three well placed for MTB or road loops.
The Plough just outside Hathersage is very nice.

+1 the Plough,
Also liked the Yorkshire Bridge inn by Ladybower too.
Lots but best place i stayed was the monsal head hotel - get a front facing view !!
ALSO - the castle in Castleton have a jacuzzi in some rooms.. 😉
