(Standard pre-amble long drive blah blah blah)

however.... what I want to do is line up a bunch of good episodes not just subscribe to series

so while every thread like this has a RHLSTP I’d recommend the one with Sophie Hagen. Suddenly it’s quite topical

and there’s always 99% invisible but I’d reccomend the ‘sound of sport’ and ‘frozen music’ ones (even though they are themselves recommendations of other podcasts)

so. Hit me with good episodes

and be quick about it because I’m setting off at 3.

Downtime Podcast - episodes with Nigel Page and Josh Bryceland were good. The recent MBUK and Cy (Cotic) ones are also worth a listen.

I'd also recommend Athletico Mince, but you need to get into it and listen to a load of episodes to get the 'characters' properly (and also be into the particular brand of comedy).

I lose many flights listening to dan carlin waffle on about history. This is a cool hypothetical episode placing Julius Caesar's army at The Battle of Hastings.

Athletico Mince,

Despite being a big fan of Bob Mortimer if found it difficult to get into - maybe I made a bad choice of episode to start from though

Farm to Taber ep 2.2 - Backed Up Like An Alabama Shit Train. A train full of shit gets stuck in a siding for 2 months. Why is it from 1000 miles away in New York?
Outside Podcast Science of Survival ep 22 - Dangerously Delicious. What happens when you're poisoned by mushrooms. It's not good.

is this a metaphor for Boris Johnson’s premiership?

It gets better later into the series, once they get into their stride and start to focus more on the better stuff. I jumped in at E50-60 ish and went from there initially and they are certainly better than the early ones.

The Obama episode of WTF with Marc Maron. You might also be able to get the the podcast where they talk about how they got the interview and the logistics of interviewing the President in his garage.

It's good that people are reading the OP...

So, 99PI:
Ep202: Mojave Phone Booth - It's about a phone box in the middle of nowhere 😀
Ep197: Fish Cannon - Unintentional and intentional nature corridors, and firing salmon over waterfalls.
Ep184: Rajneeshpuram - Utterly mental tale about an artificially built community in the middle of the desert.
And the one about redundant architectural features that are named after a Japanese guy, I can't remember what it's called!

The Science Vs About Antidepressants is pretty good as well, and the one about Vaccines gives you a good background to all the crap that idiots spout, and a good grounding to dispute their nonsense if you're not already aware of it.
