As a wee alternative to the MTB I've been cranking out a 3 day tour every April for past few years but getting stumped for ideas for this year. Looking at Borders / Argyll area but open to anywhere in Scotland.
Prerequisites are around 130 miles in total with good pubs in the evenings. We're a simple bunch..
base yourself in Oban, choice of routes north + south+ east, up Fort bill down to campbeltown, inland to glencoe?

Have a look at the Sustrans website.
Either get one of thir maps or make up a tour based on their mapping on the site. I can pretty much guarantee that they'll be the nicest, quietest roads you'll find. Sustrans know their stuff! 🙂
No end of great quiet roads in DumGal, stay off the 3 main routes and you hardly ever see a car.

that could be extended into a nice wee multiday tour - we do a GMBC '5 Ferries' every summer - start at Wemyss Bay, ride to Adrossan, ferry to Brodick, ride to Lochranza, Ferry to Clonaig, ride to Tarbert, ferry to Portavadie, ride to Colintraive, ferry at Rbuh Bodaich (SP!) ride to Rothesay, ferry back to Wemyss Bay !!!
