Just bought a new big screen TV will be buying an xbox x hopefully some time soon when I spot availability.
For now I have a computer hooked up to it and want some xbox PC game recommendations to get me back into some gaming. I haven't played anything for over 10 years and my pc is using on board graphics so I want some simple games that won't overstretch either the PC or myself.
I tried forza 4 and that just won't load, halo master chief special edition loads but is really jerky so I think I need something with more basic graphics.
And I am more inclined for 1/2 hour distractions rather than immersing myself for days, weeks and months in a game while growing a beard and getting paler.
Golf, Football games.
Worms Armaggedon etc.
Sell the XBox 😉
The OP hasn't bought it yet.
Given the spec I'd be looking at retro stuff, things like Thimbleweed Park.
Rocket League, it's "free to play" these days on Epic Store, think it has quite low minimum requirements with graphics settings turned down.
Rocket league is top fun. If you’re in to Metroidvania style games then I highly recommend Hollow Knight and both the Ori games, Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps. The Ori games might actually make you cry so fair warning.
Aston Villa v’s Bayern Munich, 1982 European Cup Final, Rotterdam.
Ah, apologies, wrong kind of game.
Unreal tournament, will run on anything. Better with friends though.
Serious Sam.
Orks must die, doesn't need a high spec from memory.
Warzone 2100, great little strategy game.
Sounds like a usecase for xbox cloud gaming, as long as your PC can decode mpeg4 your sorted!
ah yes cloud gaming works much better than downloading and installing the games locally
Portal
You should be able to pick up a stadia premier edition on ebay for about £30. You should then get 3 months stadia pro free.
I've been well impressed so far 👍
For on-board graphics I'd be looking at simple couch co-op/multiplayer.
Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime
Human Fall Flat
Overcooked!
Faster Than Light
The Escapists
Something like Borderlands may work but I wouldn't spend money finding out.
There are tonnes of light games out there though, Team 17 (Worms) have a hell of a catalogue too. Xbox actually has the market sewn up as Ultimate is essentially a games rental service (on Xbox and PC). Between that and streaming you could do a trial and see what works rather than buying. It'll also port over to your X when you get it.
Catalogue has everything from Bethesda since they bought them plus the Halo IP so you get all the Fallout and Doom series plus the new Wolfenstein games (possibly the old ones too but not sure).
Antichamber
Slime Rancher
Cosmic Express
Hook
Hexcells
Shooty Skies
Talos Principle
