Does anyone do these? I do sometimes... but just received an email to review my recent purchase from Google Store... check my order history, last thing I ordered was a Chromecast in 2015. Is that 'recent'??
Is it actually about Google Store, or is it some other shop just using Google Pay for the checkout?
From Google Store, says "..purchase from Google Store" and there's links at the bottom to my account. (And it's not phishing)
Never unless its to say I will never use the company again. Often illegal under gdpr anyway as its a thrid party and they have passed your details on without permission
I occasionally do Amazon ones, especially if my experience is different to most of the other reviews (which may or may not be fabricated). Other stuff - nope, suppliers used to give some incentives for completing survey (even if it was entry into a prize draw for a likely non-existent iPad), that's rarely the case these days so I'm not spending my own time providing them feedback to help their business (obviously complaints are a bit different).
No, but even if I was to do this, it wouldn't be one day after receiving the thing, which is when I usually get the request. I suppose I could say " Oooh, looks pretty. Not fitted it yet though, but shiny shiny etc.."
Does anyone do these?
No, and I get hacked off when one appears in my inbox or the webpage I’ve just ordered from.
Pointless iMO.
Supplier massaging? No thanks.
Generally I just click the unsubscribe link. Don't even bother with eBay feedback these days.
it wouldn’t be one day after receiving the thing
Funny that - earlier I was looking at "reviews" of gloves on the Polaris site - "Not tried yet, but they seem good" was a theme... must be because Polaris send their review emails too early.
(Something you can't accuse Google of)
On the flip side, if you never do and hate being asked to, do you read existing customer reviews to help get an idea if the thing you are buying is recommended by real people rather than magazine / internet journo reviews?
Only if they offer a good incentive. I spent 5 minutes last night answering what appeared to be the same few questions about five times over for my amazing chance to win 100,000 nectar points (which are worth £500). A lucky 10 winners every month! It must be impossible not to win surely? I only bought some diesel and nothing else but they still asked far too many questions.
WDIT: In answer to the above question - yes I am an absolute hypocrite in this aspect. Always read loads of user reviews but rarely leave them myself.
Have these dried up a bit since gdpr anyway?
Used to get asked by CRC and Merlin to review bike parts a few days after purchase, when they were usually still bagged on my desk.
I do regularly leave reviews when it's a small start up something or other though, especially if I rate the product as you know the folk behind it are putting everything into it and they would welcome good feedback.

Yep - still get from Argos and er, Google.
I have just had a phone call from the garage that did some work on my car. Apparently when I completed an online survey afterwards about a month ago (more fool me for doing so!), I graded then a 6/10 for one aspect. I was then interrogated by the caller about what aspect of the service I felt fell below my expectations.
I explained I was actually sat in a doctor's surgery waiting room, so couldn't really talk, and given it was a while ago I didn't remember either a) completing the survey, or b) why I had graded one particular aspect of it the way I did, but the caller then tried to continue with the conversation - really pushy and annoying.
So - from now on, I won't bother doing it. Real pain in the backside; and if there was any alternative for this particular car, I would go elsewhere (there's only that main dealer about 20 miles away or an indy closer, but the indy is considerably more expensive).
After I went into building society branch to report my father's death he received an email asking him to rate his customer experience 🤔

I opened this thread recently and found the OP to be fairly proficient in his sentence structure though I've not given it 5 stars due to excessive use of question marks.
The content wasn't the most interesting but I finished what was written and felt moderately better informed about the subject matter.
Time will tell on reliability of the OP's subsequent threads but I'm happy to recommend this one and expect I would read it again. I've taken one star away due to the short amount of time since I read it.

Thanks Kayak23. I'm not used to such glowing praise 😀
Not tried yet, but they seem good
TBF you get that regularly on threads here.
I tend to do them if it’s going on Trustpilot as decent companies do respond to problems on there so will leave positive or negative info and try to write a decent amount.
On the other hand I’ve tried to leave reviews on shop sites which have never been published or some error has occurred when trying to submit it - wierdly this is always when I try to leave a poor review - makes you think. 😂
I do them occasionally, mainly on CRC and Amazon. Tend to do them if there are only a couple of reviews or if the product is bad. I regularly look at customer reviews before buying something so its seems good to contribute to info on products I've bought

I had the same thing this morning, my last purchase from the Google store was November 2015.
