Failing to find a thread from earlier this year about all season tyres. I believe there is a new favourite to replace the cross climate.
Can anyone link to the thread please? Or am I just imagining it?
I think Conti is the new pretender.
I've had cross climate and good year vector, they've both been good and both lasted very well.
Thanks all, especially @bearGrease as that's the thread I was thinking of
Cross climates on MrsF's car. Really impressed and they give a nice ride and are quiet.
Vector 4s on my little car and they have been infallible embarrassing many a faux by faux on the hill to the mainroad here.
Crossclimate cost is insane.170 quid a corner
On ccs I got in a deal, superb tyre and phenomenal snow performance
I actually wanted vectors but my guy couldn't get them at the time. Contis were a possibility but noisier than ccs which was a priority
Imo it often comes down to what is available at the time, at an acceptable price. There are some excellent cheaper brands but it's often hard to get hold of them
The top 5 all seasons are all fantastic tyres, you can't go wrong with any of them.
I’ve just had to replace the original OEM Goodyears on the rear of my EcoSport, they’ve done 30,000 miles, and one had a non-repairable puncture, so I had the Michelin CC2’s, which are a couple of years old, and one also had a puncture, swapped to the rear, and a pair of the new Continental AllSeason Contact 2’s fitted.
I enquired about the new Bridgestone Turanzas, but they weren’t available. The Conti’s are a wee bit noisier than the CC2’s, on certain surfaces, but not enough to be bothersome.
I’ll have to wait until proper cold, wet weather to see how they perform, but, honestly I’m no Surfmatt, so I doubt I’ll ever come close to pushing their performance limits.
They were cheaper than the CC2’s, IIRC, which doesn’t hurt.
Cool looking tread pattern, though! [img]

Oh, and why aren’t emojis working?
Didn't really feel a benefit to cross climates when I had them on my last car, they did seem to puncture quite readily though.
