rather than hijack the whinlatter overnight parking thread, which is interesting reading i am looking for a nice site/spot for two nights in a VW camper, or two different sites for 1 night each (seems more likely ill have to pay for 3 minimum anyway) over a weekend in July (not school holidays)

were not owners, we have rented one as my 7yr old daughter is obsessed with them. we do camp quite a bit tho so not really after a fixed base for the weekend, we'd like to have a drive about and park up at some nice spots in the day, make use of a lake or do a walk up a good fell...

thanks.

As per the other thread try Burns Farm. Easy cycle into Keswick along the railway path from there. Normally just park the camper up in their big field.

There was a pop up site on the N. Shore of Bassenthwaite last year which was a quiet spot right on the lake. Don't know how to book it but stopped there to paddle in the alley with the kids. It was idyllic.
