The album these guys have done is not only excellent it looks like it'd be right up your street!
King Creosote and Jon Hopkins album Diamond Mine is truly stunning
Toby I want to love that but the singers Phrasing absolutely ruins an otherwise beautiful song.
I'm not the only person here who just picked words at random from a random wiki page am I..?
😉
@micky - the album version is cleaner sounding than that, but yeah I know what you mean. As she's Icleandic I'm prepared to make allowances!
I might forgive her then 🙂
I'll give the album a good going over on Spotify later.

count zero +1
everything youll ever need is on 6 music. dont usually buy stuff any more as i just prefer listening to the eclectic mixture of stuff on there.
Sadexpunk, looking through the lists above, there's an awful lot of bands mentioned that I either have or I know well through 6Music, which is why I didn't just put down a list of artists from my iTunes library. I have that Of Monsters And Men track playing as I write this, as I'm quite fond of them, Icelandic phrasing and all!
Lots of cracking stuff, to the OP, if you have a smartphone, get Shazam and use it when you have 6Music on, with the caveat that quite often what they're playing is too new to be in the Shazam database, in which case, have a notepad and pen to scribble down the track details.
I've got loads of paper scraps with names on from listening to 6, as well as lots of Shazam tags.
Anyone who says there's no good music around any more deserves a damned good slapping!
Here's a band I recommend without hesitation:
I saw them earlier this year, and I've got tickets to see them again next month, live, they are just the most fantastic, enjoyable experience, just exuberant, boisterous fun!
Check out Katzenjammer, you won't be disappointed.
Agree 6music is a goldmine.
A few more suggestions:
Alabama 3
The Heavy
Young the Giant
