Arrrrrrrgh yet another hair shaver I bought has broken and left me with a bald spot, why they use such cheap weak plastic is beyond me!

Can anyone recommend me one that has a good guide , preferably not plastic, if one even exists. Needs to plug in and have a 2 and 3 guide, 0.5 marks would be a bonus.

Thanks

Wahl balding clippers are the best ones I have ever had. They are not cheap but yet are worth it.

I think even the professional level clippers use plastic guides..
I'm assuming by guide you mean the combs that offer the different grade lengths?

Wahl is the best, and chuck the guides in the bin you scruffy hippie!

Ha ha yeah the plastic guides, the ones with my Philips was made of cheese.

Think Wahl is the way forward, I'm temping in a hair dressing factory at the minute so I'll get trade prices.

I look a right Muppet now with a bald line down the back.

Well even more so than normal.

Get one designed for dog grooming. Instead of having a plastic guide per size, they have a set of blades for each size.

curse those combs. I have three clippers in a drawer, and a number one comb now wrapped in bubble wrap when not in use 😕

Oh man.. We should start up a reciprocal swap shop.. I've always preferred a grade zero and until recently had a drawerful of unused guides/combs.. I ditched 'em all in the last house move though.. Surely you can buy them on ebay..?
I'm in the market for clipper oil too, chain lube just doesn't seem to cope with the high temperatures

I did look once.
Set of combs posted - about a tenner.
New clipper set from asda (remington) - £9.99

I couldn't find them individually anywhere. I even tried whittling down one of the bigger ones, without much success..

What are you doing to them?! One set of clippers here for 12 years or so and only really used the No 1 - no signs of any damage.
