No not the biscuit - the american whisky. Its a gift for a pal. I know nothing about bourbons. budget £50ish
Ta
Dammit! You’ve pre-empted the biscuit jokes. Well, that won’t stop me.
Eagle rare 10 or makers mark 101 great for the money
Maker's Mark is probably my favourite. Sometimes on offer in supermarkets sub-£30. Maker's Mark 46 is amazing, about £40 and will probably require a specialist whisky shop or online ordering.
Rowan Creek can sometimes be had for that kind of money. It is a rather large step up from the supermarket "posh" bourbons like the Woodford/Buffalo Trace/etc.

I really like the Woodford Reserve rye version with the green label and prefer it to the regular version.

Makers Mark 46 like Cougar mentioned. Looks as if it can had for @£40 online.
I've tried all of the above, this is the best bourbon I've ever had though, smoother than all the rest
Personally I like Bullit Bourbon - although it’s on the sweeter / smoother end I’d say. Probably half your budget ish.
Woodford Reserve is ok - but I find it a bit rougher than Bullit.
Blanton's. Harder to get in the UK, but worth seeking it out.
For more regular drinking, Woodford reserve for me (the regular one, not the rye version for my palate).
In that price range wild turkey eagle rare is my personal favourite.
Another vote for Makers Mark 46 or Woodford.
Ta folks - that gives me something to work with
DOnt drink any more but I used to work in Kentucky... So I drank alot of Bourbons over the years. Looking for ones you could get in the UK that suit your budget I would probably go for Wild Turkey Rare breed. Its a straight up Bourbon of the proper kentucky style - strong but smooth - perfect for a Mint Julep. Not actually too expensive in the UK considering considering its $50 a bottle in the US.
I've only just realised who the poster is.
Go to Royal Mile Whiskies on, uh, Royal Mile. Tell them what you're after, they'll look after you.
Buffalo Trace is worth a try, I was going to suggest Woodfords it’s my go-to bourbon when I do my annual Christmas stocking up.
