My house is a weird 60s 'architectural' design. Bought it a derelict.
Now I need to insulate it and was going to have my cavity walls done. My external wall space is 108 (damn cant remember if thats feet or metres, but its double the average that's why I 'm thinking of going for it.
Any downsides?
The loft also needs doing and I was just going to use B&Q stuff. Any reason not to.
Glass wool is glass wool, no matter who is the retailer.
British Gas Dual Fuel and get it for nothing? Possibly.

108 will be millimetres, sounds like a big cavity to fill.
Normally I would recommend cavity insulation, the cavities there for a reason but with one that big you will probably get a lot of air movement. As the others said B & Q loft insulation is as good as any other.
Our house is a terrace, but set in the road long ways hence the large wall space.
If you mean 108 square metres, i would get foam insulation injected. I was quoted 2k for 45 sqm. so i reckon it will run you 4k ish. It is far superior to the wool dross injected, although this will noticebly warm the house. I would ignore people on about damp patches. I would rather risk a damp patch than sit freezing in baltic house pouring cash through the walls.
just had loft and cavity done for FREE by EDF ( they are our gas and leccy supplier)
