Used a few ready mix bags of concrete (not postcrete) today for a couple of fence posts . Followed the instructions with the volume of water and smothed the top to finish it. Then covered it with a waterproof decorating sheet.
The bags don't say anything about spraying with water but reading online a lot of places say it should be sprayed with water regularly.
Any ideas what's best?
TBH for fence posts I think covering with a waterproof sheet is plenty. While I am not a builder/engineer my understanding is that for big flat areas of concrete it is desirable to slow down the drying out as you may get cracks if it is too fast. Fence posts I wouldn't worry as long as they are braced so they are not moving for the first 24 hours.
It's to support decking with short posts so needs to withstand weight of people. The concrete is probably a 12 inch cube per post.
It'll be fine. Lots of volume vs drying area, so it will cure rather than dry which is what you want.
