Hi, just about to replace the SSD on my Macbook Pro, which looks fairly simple.
Only bit I'm not entirely sure about is the reinstall of everything bit...
I will back up via Time Machine to an external HD. Once I re-start the machine after swapping out the SSD is it just as simple as copying over the latest back up from Time Machine and off I go? Will the whole OS be included when I copy this back up?

Been a while since I've had to do this but IIRC I made a BOOTABLE copy of my HDD on an external hard drive using Carbon Copy Cloner (NOT Time Machine).
You can then replace the HDD with an SSD, boot off the backup drive and reverse the process i.e. clone the backup onto the new SSD.
There are other methods but that's how I did it.
what Zilog said.
Done that a few times, no issues.
