Folks

Thinking about getting a razor pit to extend the life of my Fusion blades (£££), otherwise thinking Aldi special 3-blade razor!

Anyone got one? Experience?

I would love to DE shave but I have a serious issue with blades.

No idea about razor pits, but Tesco have a deal on fusion starter kits with a "handle" and a load of replacement blades, works out a fair bit cheaper than normal prices. Still not cheap, mind.

I've bought into the idea of a razor pit

I think the marketing of the razor pit is very good but I'm not convinced its as good as they make out. If you twisted my arm I would say it helps a little but it doesn't do the gel strip any good.

Got one, rate it. Used maybe 8 Mach3 blades in last 2 years. I know it's the same as the "jeans method" (which when I found out about it led me to the Razor Pit) ie stropping but the chances of me doing the jeans method was zero, so RP was £20 well spent. Just for comparisons sake a Mach3 blade used to last me maybe 2 or 3 weeks, say 7 or 8 shaves. So at the most conservative estimate I've quartered my blade expenditure.
