He’s a decent bloke Simon. If you’ve ever ridden with him, or spent a few days in a hotel, you’d find he’s a lovely simple and funny chap.

I just read it too actually. Throwback to 2004 when cycling was uncool. Those were the days

Nailed it describing the current state of Pro Cycling for me.

Seems fair, but there’s some serious bitchiness in the comments!

Still getting the impression it’s price is part of its marketing appeal.

Rapha is only slightly better than someone wearing full team Sky kit. I still cringe for the wearer ...

But in this weird world of bike racing you don’t know what to believe, and there’s such a culture of suspicion that has grown up around Team Sky in the past few years it’s hard to separate fact from fiction.

Kudos to Rapha for getting out at the right time.

And as far as Rapha's reputation goes, he seems to understand that the only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about.

Nice.

I've always been a great fan of Rapha: a perfect example in an entrepreneurial business finding it's niche and becoming a leader all other competitors look to.

Well done to him and the team for growing something from scratch to selling it for £200m.

Same goes for Aldi kit that people seem to fawn over..

Why anyone would happily spend hundreds, if not thousands on a bike, and then wear shit kit is beyond me..

Can't say I noticed.

Really, you cringe at what other people wear, that's very odd. You sound like a fashion victim.
