Yesterday my best mate drowned in a diving accident. He’s still missing.
Today I kicked 3 litres of dark blue emulsion over a cream carpet.
ARRRRRRRGH.

That’s better. As you were.

Wow, that sounds horrendous, the best mate that is, the paint is just one of those things.

As per the other thread, I just spent £2.3k removing a tennis ball from my dog after the bloody idiot finally managed to eat one. She is THE most expensive rescue dog ever, the local specialist vet will soon open a wing in her name funded purely by me as when my wife booked the insurance she didn't think to up the yearly coverage cap as it's rescue dog it'll be fine (first timer error I would have made too).

I can't even sit back with a beer and relax, see IBS thread.

I'm about to have a meeting with the CIO having put my notice in yesterday after just 3 months in what has turned out to not be the right job for me post redundancy.

Wife is having to self isolate post a colleague being postive on Tuesday, and mentally she's not doing well with the dog stress.

This wek, month, year can DO ONE!

Whatever you do, don't knock over a tin of red paint in the same room. You'll be marooned for ages.

Sorry for your loss.

Devastating, but I wouldn't worry about the carpet.

What a strange post about two events. Sorry to hear about your best mate. Couldn't give a shit about the paint in such circumstances.

Yesterday I discovered by accident that my wife has been having an affair for a number of years (don't know how many at the moment).
She is unaware that I know.
I love her totally and have no idea what to do.

That's shit FFJA, but as others have said, who gives a toss about the carpet in these circumstances...

Holy shit! So many questions but that requires its own thread...

Agreed on the carpet. I think I needed the carpet incident to give me an “excuse” to cry.
There’s a vessel coming from France today with some ROV’s to try to find Rob.
Pants.

Opened the thread hoping for one something a bit daft, didn't expect that!

All I can say is hope Rob was doing what he loved.

@FFJA condolences for your loss.  And yes it's weird how sometimes we can bottle big stuff up and require a minor problem to enable us to grieve properly.

@Eyepic Jesus that's awful. Post up a thread to get some support, this place has helped me and others weather similar storms.

My minor vent, thanks for the perspective, today we tell our kids that we are separating after 16years. It's been a shit 2021 so far...

Loving, supporting and caring for others is often a very one way street.

I made a very long term assumption that i was cared for but actually i was tolerated as a useful resource.

Appears i am no longer fit for purpose.
