Couple of weeks ago I received a mac book Pro charger from Amazon which I hadn't ordered. Contacted them and they said bin or keep. No record of it in my little used Amazon account. Yesterday I received a small landscape humidifier(?), again Amazon prime package, no billing paperwork or owt.

Anyone else had similar? A part of me is itchy that something is going on, but I've not been charged nor is there a record of the items anywhere. Curiously no receipt in either parcel.

I had a bike bag turn up out of the blue, no paperwork, no markings on the box, no history in my bank account.
It was strange, I use the wheel bags but the main bag lives in the loft.

Not a variation on this scam is it? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-49450485 The value of the items does seem a little low TBH for it to be worthwhile.

Planet Money podcast did a segment about something similar. Although value of your items seems a bit high for this.

Don't amazon put a (tiny) packing-slip in the bag?

Also - has anyone sent you something direct from amazon in the past (gift from family etc)? I find that amazon sometimes randomly assigns a delivery address that I've used previously, and if you don't watch it you can accidentally send a great big knobbly dildo an item to your auntie by mistake.

The mundane/low value items suggest this is a mistake rather than a scam

No packing slips from Amazon. Get loads of stuff coming, but its usually the teens.

Not any more.

Is the label actually addressed to you? Not sure if you can use any of the tracking numbers on the outside of the package without it being your account.

Have you tried plugging the charger into the humidifier?....

They are developing an AI prediction system, you hadn't even realised you wanted these items and they have delivered them for you!

Or, there are some cock-ups in their order management software and you have been accidentally sent someone else's carp! I think all the packaging is branded prime these days and there are no delivery notes included.

Could be "brushing" aka a way for scammers to leave fake reviews: https://conversation.which.co.uk/money/amazon-prime-brushing-scam-explained/

I appreciate that this is a wild and crazy idea, but have you considered asking Amazon about it?

Call me wild and crazy. As mentioned in the op, Amazon did respond and I'm awaiting hopefully for another response. I've also asked them this time to try to explain how this could happen.

Last week they sent me one I of those all in one snorkeling masks... Again no record of it...

I'm not sending it back though. I count it as a loyalty gift 👍

There is a premium number phone scam using Amazon missed collection cards.
