Apologies for potential incompetence in uploading photo! We have heated, spray, wash, dry toilet seat. It’s cracked! Need to fix quickly before replacement arrives, pic shows I tried to glue it, any other suggestions?

We gaffer taped the toilet seat back together at work once. Stayed that way for years

Irrelevant but...

I remember reading something, can't remember if it was a b&b review or similar...Perhaps it was on telly...

Cracked toilet seat, as guy stands up the crack closes up, simultaneously pinching his, errr, yep, and for good measure, yanking it as he jumps up 😂

Always had a healthy respect for cracked toilet seats since!

Go to B&Q and buy a bog standard (sorry) replacement for 10 quid?

@donald, I'm not sure that B+Q is an option for the OP.

What's the problem with the glue repair (apart from it looking terrible), Is it still leaking? In which case more glue.

Edit, sorry it's the seat, yeah either lots of gaffer tape or temporary seat from B & Q although I'm guessing the toilet doesn't have standard seat fixings.

The builder managed to box in the electrics so will need to remove them to replace seat.
I’m not averse to B&Q, seat, stone worktop were my only input on whole house renovations, the seat is brilliant

Fibreglass repair underneath and an epoxy repair sanded and sprayed white on top.

Like a bumper repair

If the boxed in electrics need removing to replace the seat then might as well remove them now or butcher as needed so you can fit a temporary cheap seat.

I can't see any bodge being up to the average American arse. Luckily Americans are very unlikely to get litigious if they hurt their nethers on a busted seat..oh wait.

This was the exact subject of a accident at work a few years ago! One of the few that was read and re-read rather than skimmed and largely ignored.

Actually, a few of these would make an excellent thread on their own. I'll start one later.

Plastic Padding and a can of Hammerite once sanded? That hammered finish will look amazing

Good call. You can add the glitter while the paint is still wet.

Long term is a replacement I'd say.
