On the tele last week. My wife did some of the research for it. The historian in the gallery at John Rylands talking about the politician was reading out her work. She’s not bothered though as she has no interest in standing in front of a camera. As far as she was concerned it was reward enough for her to point at the screen and say “I found that!!!” throughout the whole segment.
That is all.
Awesome 🙂
It's far more fascinating when you're involved than when you are just watching it, obviously. We went to volunteer at an archaeology dig two weekends ago. All I did was some digging* but it made it so much more interesting to be doing it for a completely different purpose. My daughter got the first find in the hole, a piece of struck flint from tool making. We went back a week later, same holes same people, still just as mundane looking, but there was a whole bronze age pot sticking out of the mud. Amazing thing to see in real life.
* actually quite a lot of digging - I've been landscaping my garden for the last year so am now fairly handy with the tools, but the doughy archaeology undergraduates were absolutely useless, feebly hacking away trying to stick a spade in turf for five minutes then stopping for a rest. It was pretty funny.
I do quite like the "who do you think you are" series but they do seem to be getting a bit dull recently. Have to say the Matt Lucas one was good though.
Sadly the best one that I ever saw was Rolf Harris. Unlikely to be repeated however.
I thought this recent series was back up to standard - the Matt Lucas one was fantastic

I personally intensely dislike the man, obviously, but the Boris Johnson one was by far the most interesting episode of that. But for impact, it was Moira Stuart.
