Long time listeners to 5Live will no doubt be a bit sad about the news of her death today. Her podcast, You, Me and the Big C has been brilliant listening since she started it. Her husband, Steve’s tribute was just read out and I did get a bit choked to be honest. All the episodes, especially the one about the “concept” of death were great listening.
So sad, 40 is no age.
Yeah, followed her through 5L and she became a voice for the impending doom that Cancer is.
Sad, very sad but what an inspiring woman.
Listening to the tributes today.... got choked also. The podcasts she did were outstanding.
RIP
I hope there's no picture of her shakng hands with Prince Charles coming.
She was never on my radar until she got ill, but having a young son and dealing with an illness like that must be gruesome.
She faced her destiny with a rare dignity
A sad day, her dignity and tenacity in the fight, RIP
Yes . Very sad. I have listened to her a lot over the last few years.
RIP Rachael.
Enjoyed her work when I got the chance to listen.
I'm always saddened when people like this get the big C. Seems very unfair.
Life is very unfair. Sadly.
Make the best of what you have when you have it, no-one's above getting ****ed over if fate decrees it. Although if I was allowed 15 mins of being fate, I wouldn't spend my time ****ing over people like Rachael, I have a different list.
I found her last tweet really tricky to deal with. Can't get it out of my head.
Never listened to her but I will.
Her story has encouraged me to listen to her podcast and check my boobies. I hope her legacy lives on and helps many, many others. RIP Rachael.
