Hi,
I've had a MSR Dragonfly for about 15 years now. Works well and never had any issues with it...
...BUT the last time i went camping with it, it was so noisy that it actually prevented me having a conversation with the person i was with. And it really did my head in.
I know the whisperlite is a quieter stove...but I'd love to know if any of the newer multi-fuel stoves (primus or soto) are perhaps even quieter?
Does anyone know the answer...youtube and google didn't seem to have anything definitive.
I don't, sorry. I use a Trangia because I hate noisy stoves.
Have you seen this for the Dragonfly?

Get to keep the same stove AND hear your mate talking next to you!
I have a late '90s XGK. Not that.
Like Saturn 5...when it works.
I am most interested in whether a PRIMUS OMNILITE TI + Silencer will be quieter than an MSR whisperlite!
Whisperlite is a gentle hiss, sound of a great camping trip in progress 🙂
@simondbarnes i'm a big trangia fan as well, but not for proper cooking or for multiple people.
There are a couple of Whisperlite models, mine does gas plus liquid fuel and is much quieter than my Primus Omnifuel.
I run mine on Aspen 4T.

Nice wide flame for frying...
I've got the primus omnifuel but the regular version is loud.
