You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Hi all, sketching out a woodstore and wondering what size beams I need. Just got lost on a couple of websites getting into structural loadings calculations, and thought I could ask nicely on here instead.
Going double decker. How big should I go to support 100kgs of wood evenly distributed over a 1m span? 47mmx47mm enough? could I go smaller? Or should I go bigger? I could put more supports in and have 75cm span if that would be a more efficient use of wood (i.e. more wood, but if it allows thinner wood, could be cheaper overall)
Thankyouplease!
That's a LOT of decking, 5th! 😯
Think I'm going to go for 75cm spans, only means another couple of lengths of wood, and means 75ks over 75cms rather than 100 over 1m.
Big pallet then?!vertical supports made from a pallet
