I've already got a pair of powerline adapters that work fine. I'm looking to add an additional one but the most convenient plug in the location I want to use is off a fused spur rather than a socket in the ring main. Has anyone any experience if this would work or do I need to use a socket that is part of the ring main?

My other option that is more pricy is to by an additional node for my mesh system and plug into that, but that would benefit by extending the wifi area.

Thanks.

Yep works fine in my house, the conservatory is a spur, and on a separate circuit to the rest of them and still works.

They're not supposed to be used on extension leads either but they do (useful for getting spotify to work in the garden) .

Might well great, might work acceptably, might be terrible! No way to predict really. I'd buy one that is easy to return and give it a go.

For me it was noticeably slower than the being on the main ring, but still better than the wifi alternative.

It may work, it may not. Test it by temporarily moving one of your existing adapters to the other spur.
