Can I connect an iPhone 5s to a USB printer and print?

Printer is a non-wireless canon all in one job. Printer is across town so I can't just shove the cable in and see. But if it's possible I can go get it.

Google mostly throws up wireless solutions.

Ta!

Where exactiy do you think you’ll plug a USB cable into the phone ?

Well the printer isn't wireless so that's academic. The other end of the charging/data cable is USB no?

Is the printer attached to a Mac? If so, handyprint may work for you.

just email whatever is on the phone to a computer, then print it.

Put the iPhone under the scanner, you'll have to edit the picture afterwards to crop the phone out. 😆

Or plug the printer into your router. That could make it work as a wireless printer.

I’ve got a non wireless printer attached to one of three Airport Expresses that I have running my network. I can print wirelessly form my Mac but I’ve never worked out if I can do it from my iPhone or iPad. I guess it’s possible but I’ve never needed to as whatever is on the phone is on the computer.

Into the Lightning port.

EDIT ahh, but the printer USB port will be one of the square sorts 2.0; yes?

Does the printer have the capability to print from a file off a USB memory stick or Flash card? If so then transferring to that would be your best way.

Apple don't really do cable connections. They are on a personal mission to make everything wireless and button/keyless.

Some WiFi routers have a usb port on the back and can become a network print server. Google your WiFi router and see if that is possible?

Oh yeah... DOH

It was just an idea. Wanted to make use of the printer by putting it somewhere where there is no computer or interpipe... a kind of artist studio.

Yes, but the point is that the phone is also only a type B ("square sort"), and a B-B cable isn't useful.

As has been said most modern routers can act as print servers if you plug the printer in over USB, or there's no end of really cheap devices that will do it for you.
