MOT ran out about a month ago. Not had much use for the car so not been n a rush to sort it. Just wondered how that affects the tax. Does it just stop? Hoping to get an MOT next week and just carry on.

Nop, tax carries on. Just don't drive it until you get it tested again. You wont be able to get new tax until it's tested though.

if I recall correctly, your tax will run until its expiry date regardless of MOT. As long as you get your MOT done before you need to renew, you should be fine.

When you try to tax a car, it will search the illuminati database to make sure your MOT and insurance are in order.
