Little 'discussion' with the wife that needs sorting...
What's the difference between qualify and quantify?

Do neither of you have access to a dictionary? Try using each word in a sentence, the context should help clarify the meaning for you.

Qualitative- bike A is lighter than bike B

Quantitative- bike A weighs 10kg, bike B weighs 12kg

Simply put, anyway. Qualitative = words. Quantitative = numbers (really some metric as opposed to just 1st, 2nd etc).

Qualify has other meanings. It would be handy to have context.

Another thrilling night in the D household.

Next week....chips. Crinkle cut, or chunky.

Qualify has other meanings. It would be handy to have context.

I preferred your original answer, Druidh.
