Been in a bit of a rut with quadriceps tendonitis for around 9 months ago. Started last summer, mostly through suddenly ramping up biking & hiking alongside some gait issues at the time.
Had an MRI & Ultrasound that found some thickening of the quad tendon (above the knee), but the consultant didn't think there was a surgical answer to it. Also ruled out any cartilage damage or other cause of the pain.
Tried a couple of physio rehab programs now and haven't got anywhere, it reacts badly to any form of loading and is feeling pretty limiting and painful just moving around the house. To be fair I think an element is that I've maybe moved too quickly before, challenging as it hurts more afterwards than during activity.
Anyone else had a run in with quad tendon issues and have any advice on how to manage it?
I suffered from it @2 years ago, anti inflammatories, rest and physio/rehab eventually worked for me.
It took a while of rehab work to get it functioning properly again with lots of single leg exercises.
I've now got Plantar Fasciitis which I am managing.......it never ends🤣
Foam roller might help relax the quad. Bikejames has some bike specific routines.
