I've had this request from a client who wants a QR code on the back of their business cards...
"We would like to have the codes to sync the Contact details (number and email as they appear on the business card) directly onto their mobile."
Is this possible, and if so how? I've done straight web url links with QR codes, but nothing like this.
Ta!
Nothing says 'I had my business cards printed in 2011' more than a QR code.
Tell them to get some Near Field Technology cards made up 🙂
I don't know if you can sync automatically, but the vCard method is something I've used (but it seems dated these days):
Embed text like this
BEGIN:VCARD
N:Alex;Simon
ORG:thingswelike
TITLE:Founder
EMAIL:email@soandso.com
END:VCARD
Any decent online QR code creator shoudl do it. One of the "standard" encodings is for a full vcard style contact details, iirc (not played with this for years though).
Be more interesting if you can frig one with logo in the middle.
After that, it's down to what the phone supports.
Just looked back at what we did. The code was pretty large and ugly for a business card. - as with you, the client wanted it even though we didn't like it.
There are a few visual customisations you can do, but it still needed to be printed largish to scan consistently.
