Please help me find a present for my brother! Â As a single male with decent salary, if he wants anything he buys it. If he has a hobby, it's 'reading about interesting stuff on the internet'. He is somewhat nerdish and slightly lonerish, but does on occasion get into a 'project'. Jigsaws are good because they're so addictive.
He does like board games and has a few, but being a bit lonerish, never really gets to play them.
So is there some kind of board/puzzle game that is intriguing and in depth enough that a single player could get into it? Â I don't really know the current boardgame landscape but i know there are loads of really interesting things out there these days.
Any tips appreciated!
Maybe Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective? It can be played solo or co op with others, and involves trying to figure out a puzzle. It's pretty good fun.
There's a review of it here:Â https://www.shutupandsitdown.com/videos/review-sherlock-holmes-consulting-detective/
solo fantasy role playing games e.g. Tunnels and Trolls solo adventure books. Â If he gets into them there are semingly loads of groups of people who meet up and play the likes of D&D, Warhammer etc.
Something like this maybe?

There's loads of different "escape room in a box" outings of varying degrees of quality. The only one I've played was one of the EXIT series, I didn't rate it particularly though I found out subsequently that the one I'd bought at random is widely regarded as their worst. Ho hum.
You can get jigsaw puzzles that have no picture, just blank pieces. One of them might keep him going for a while.

It's not a picture of a tiger. Now put the Frosties back in the box.

I missed the obvious answer first time around. A nice present for your brother might be to spend some time playing games with him?
yeah fair shout, will be doing that over xmas and should probably make more of an effort in general although tbh he doesn't make it easy!
