nothing of architectural note in Yorkshire then? Possibly a bit more concerned with the quality of the ale than mock tudor beams - I was expecting to see a classic Tetley's pub like the Cardigan Arms in Leeds though I guess that is from a different period

The Warrington in Maid Vale is a good looking boozer.

Surprised the "phil" in Liverpool wasnt on the list!

Because it wasn't built between WW1 and WW2?

edit: Completely missed the bit about being from the interbellum.

There's a lot of mock tudor going on there. How about The Dun Cow in Sunderland:

or the garden gate in leeds:

The interior of the Philharmonic takes some beating...

It's a bit of a cheat but The Centurion's a pretty impressive interior.

The Garden Gate and the Philharmonic - wildly over the top, love them.
I also quite like the old Ticket Office at St Pancras, even if there was an excess of pretentious ****s when I was there

Not been to any on the BBC list, but have been to the Phil in the 'pool and the ticket office (sans pretentious ***** when I was there). Both impressive places for a drink or 2.

Ultimately though the beer and the people within it are what makes a decent pub.

Stayed in St Pancras hotel and the ticket office was absolutely packed on a Friday night.
