I may be commuting part-way by bus soon - what's the score with Oyster Cards, Travel Cards and Bus Passes? Which is best/cheapest or in what combination? Anybody?

😐

I've got an oyster card for trips to London - really easy to use and works out quite cheap. Have a look at the Transport for London web site - you should be able to check out your route and what options are best for you.

but buses are R E A L L Y slow - they take ages to get anywhere and are always stuck in traffic or stopping every 200 yards..

Oyster card always. You can get pay as you go, in which case it is £3.95 maximum per day if you only use buses, or you can get a bus pass on it for £16 a week / 63 quid a month.

Buses aren't too bad if the route has bus lanes, not much slower than the tube.

Bikes are obviously better - only sensible way to travel in London. If you need to catch rush hour trains too, then a folding bike is probably cheaper in the long term than public transport.
