MGB 53 has a month to find a new home before she's scrapped. She's in good condition with a few small leaks, so she could easily be restored to a working gunboat again
She's the last known surviving 70ft MGB from the Second World War
And she might be free to a good home!

Seems a bit lacking in guns.

Please take away my scrap before it costs me money.

Don't tell Boris, he needs these for a diplomacy push post-Brexit.
Seems a bit lacking in guns.
It's one of those Bond Villain boats - they're all hidden in stealth mode.
mate of mine bought something similar on the internet when he was drunk. £5K. cost more than that getting it down south, spent a summer (little bits of it) working on it it out of the water inCaversham, then tried to take it down to Kingston where he'd found a mooring. Roped me in and one or two others to help because I'd driven a boat and dun locks before. I turned up and the boat yard guy said it's the most terrifying thing he'd been on. Thought he was taking the piss.
He wasn't, No reverse gear, turning circle twice the width of the river. We grounded upstream from the boatyard on a bank trying to turn around and had to get tugged off by a restaurant. We crashed into a lot of stuff, ran out of fuel, had to get rescued again, between crashing into the most expensive boat we saw all weekend and nearly hitting the rail bridge at Bourne End. End of weekend. Fun. Sort of. Total amount of stress-free cruising over the whole weekend - less than 5 mins.
He got the gearbox repaired in Bourne End, got it to Kingston (he enlisted other helpers for that stint - the rest of us were strangely busy when help was asked for) where it sank a couple of months later. Raised it up after a few attempts, restored it with lots of help, including plenty of "final dressing" from the George Clark's Amazing Spaces production team - more than they bargained for, I'd guess.
In summary, "Free" for that one up there sounds very expensive!

I’ve had worse nights out...
Three Paxman Diesel engines giving a total of 3000 horse power!
a mate had one of these boats, converted to a houseboat but with two huge RR diesel engines, which RR serviced free of charge to get them going for him, including meeting the bloke who built them originally (the engines had a plaque with the engineers name). I understand it had a bit of an issue in a marina somewhere at low tide and never made high tide again.

When I was at school it was round the back of the bike sheds.

2 good days when you own a boat.
The day you buy it and the day you sell it.
