You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
You can enter on July 29th.
A weekend of drinking, music and sillyness on the west coast. I am thinking of train-cycle-camping...
I am only a year off being in the Old Tosser category - so need to have another crack at it.
I also met the National Luing Old Tosser Champion a few weeks ago while wandering Isle of Luing.
Matt - Indian* National Stone Skimming Champion**

* by birth. Not passport holder currently. But in theory.
** champion may be stretching it. I am the only Indian by birth to have ever entered.
And this sums up the 'fun' on the island...

Wasn't there a BBC doc, Sink or Skim, about this? Looked like fun!
I can spend hours skimming stones...
I invented a new skimming sport the other day, not sure what to call it though... Stone precision ricocheting? Doesn't have much of a ring to it...
Anyway, we have a wide(ish) river that's good for skimming, with a baby section of rapids and a steep bank on the other side.
Pick a target on the opposite bank. Pick a standing wave in the river. Skim your stone so that it directly hits the wave and fires up at a steep angle with enough lift to clear the river and hit the target.
Quite tricky and very satisfying.
Been there a few times.... not for the champs mind... im not in their league.
Tis a lovely place!
I was sat with half the title contenders in the bar or at the event start. Most were using stones from Luing as there is a better beach / source there. Which is against rules.
