number plate was blanked out, so lets hope he has been. Shame it wasn't a branded tanker though

I'm having nasty flashbacks now. Some of those situations are very familiar.

The white fuel truck on the roundabout is the scariest helmet cam video I have ever seen. Lots of these sorts of things I can say to myself "I would never have undertaken that bus" etc etc... But that one could well happen to the best rider in the world.

Seem to recall he was tracked down. Got off on legal technicality. Roundabout is at Homebase, Milngavie, north of Glasgow.

Edit .

Yes, insufficient evidence.

Scary flashbacks coming from watching the crashes.

I don't commute in a town on a bike (not sure I would after seeing this!) but I was sent flying from the roadbike a few years ago by an elderly gentleman's car at a country roundabout - a bit reminiscent of the tanker coming straight on but luckily without that much speed and the big scary F.O. wheels.

To solve this needs a complete culture change in this country both in terms of awareness and courtesy on both sides but also an emergence of some real experts in road junction layout. Junctions that work in cities safely for both cyclists and motorists. I won't hold my breath.

It comes to something when the most sensible people on this programme are the taxi drivers!

If you go out looking for trouble, you'll find it. Some of those incidents could have been avoided simply by a bit of forward planning on behalf of the cyclist.

I mean look now, how many cyclists have gone up the inside of an indicating left turn lorry?!

When I got knocked off last time, the doctor who I saw said she had just moved down from London, where she cycled everywhere. She refuses to cycle around here (a largish country town) as it feels too dangerous.

As I thought, stupid people exist on bikes and in vehicles.

Two cyclists with glasses - both making good and valid points. One behaves sensibly, the other behaves apparently in a way that seems designed to antagonise. IT Gareth, think about it.

Alf (? Age 77) talked a lot of sense as does the mother who tragically lost her daughter.

Lessons learned - drive and cycle defensively, defuse conflict situations rather than antagonise, don't smack vehicles, take deep breathes, the aggro isn't worth it.

The cycle PC, "I wouldn't call these people cyclists, I would call them criminals." Well said.

Plenty of zombies in London ...

Thing is, London works remarkably well. Everyone (cyclists, drivers, pedestrians) ignore red lights and act like idiots but surprisingly it all works very well 99% of the time. Organised chaos.

Alf talks a lot of sense, seems like a really sound bloke. Poor guy, losing his grandson like that. 🙁

London can be a pretty brutal place to drive around, let alone cycle. I've done enough of the former to steer me clear of the latter.

Those couriers should have their bikes taken away, crushed into a little can, and forced to drink their own urine out of their bike cans.

So this was the programme that people were getting ready to write to their MPs about? Seemed fairly balanced to me in the end.

London's fine to cycle in - I have cycled to work off and on, no pun intended, for over 25 years. It is a lot better now as there are so many cyclists, even in the past it was n't bad. I only been knocked off five times and none of those were serious as it was pretty obvious it was going to happen so I could prepare.

I was actually +1 the fact he was a COCK but forgot to use the quote function.
If you watch the clip he realises the taxi driver is calming down and walking away so he starts to try and antagonise him by clapping his hands. It seems all he wants to do is ride around looking for footage to post online.

Good programme, pretty well balanced. I've seen most of the footage before except that HGV in Glasgow on the roundabout. I thought I'd had some near misses (and hits) on roundabouts but jeez, that was scary.

Surely should be named "War on LONDONS roads" (ok apart from the scary tanker incident in Glasgow).

Commuting in Cardiff seems pretty damn good now 🙂

totally agree. All the incidents in the programme stem from one road user believing they have more rights than others..

Shame they threw in that courier racing (I assune thats not actually a frequent occurrence) otherwise reasonably balanced.

Cabbie losing his grandson cycling was a bit of a shocker.

Sad thing is, I don't think anyone talking on the programme had changed their views even with the benefit of hindsight 🙁
