Been watching these for some time, although not regularly, I’ve been waiting for one covering railways around Bath and Bristol.

Missed the first half so not sure if they showed my house or not, will have to wait for it to be shown again on catch-up. Making me quite sad thinking of all that epic singletrack either side of the line not being ridden at the moment.

CZ - the first series featured a line that ended in Bath although can't remember where it started. Certainly passed close to Glastonbury Tor.

No I live much closer to Aberdeen, by the new bypass if they showed that.

Good map. When we bought our house 30 years ago we took into account the network of old disused mine railway lines so we could bike quite a distance without hitting a road or seeing anyone. Apart from a couple the rest have become virtually overgrown through lack of use. Tend to trim back when needed but most of the time just ride them

Whitewicks Abandoned Railways channel on YouTube is brilliant too for these.

Ddin't think anyone else watched Whitewick's channel, such a good source of random info about areas. The dynamic between him and the wife is good to watch.

@c_g - thanks, I missed that one, I think that line is the bit that runs from just outside Bath down through Radstock, I’ll have to check on the map, but that would be one bit, the other’s the line from Bath to Bristol, although that bit may not be long enough for a programme. The Radstock line has a long tunnel that’s part of the Sustrans network and which I’ve never walked or ridden, so I’ll check that out. Thanks for that! 😁
The programme covers the S&D or Slow & Dirty as it was also called, which went down from Bath through Wellow and Radstock, the tunnel’s on a different line, I think.

Oh my goodness, plenty to watch there including some local-ish stuff. Thanks both!

CZ - have been looking at the Somerset Council RoW map but literally can not see the woods for the trees. There's so many markings on there that you can't see any detail. I can not remember the names of the places where the presenter went to though do remember him finding a bridge in a seriously overgrown area. It's never clear in those programmes as to what is public and what is private land.

Have heard about the tunnel, sounds an experience. Around Radstock there's various disused railway lines that the public can use.

Can thoroughly recommend that Whitewicks railway channel, have watched five already covering areas I know. Quite addictive and the presenters aren't anorak types either!
