TLDR don’t, just don’t.

Both of these  are guilty pleasures in their meaty forms. Hence my delight that they’d made meat free versions(removing some of the guilt) when I was doing the weekly shop on Friday and passed the chilled snack sections whilst feeling hungry.

Well, there’s no other way to say it. Both of them are vile. They may have ruined food for me, they’re that bad. They taste even more artificial, the texture is like chewing on a disgusting version of Halloumi, and they’re so dry they soak up the saliva from your mouth.

PSA I make these mistakes so you don’t have to. Avoid, they’re truly disgusting.

Don’t worry, I can’t actually conceive of a reality where I’d even consider buying these 😂

Thankfully I'm always put off when seeing the word Vegan, so luckily would never have this problem.

.

I would have thought though having the word 'Tasty' on the packet, in conjunction with a vegan snack would be warning enough. Nothing vegan in even the remotest sense is ever tasty.

Though not vegetarian or vegan, I'm married to a vegetarian and happily eat a lot of vegetarian food. I'm convinced by the ethical and health benefits of doing a lot more of it. However, I do have to draw the line at some supermarket offerings. Vegan 'cheese' as a prime example. Mrs Bloke bought some and it is the most unfoodlike 'food' I've ever tried. Absolutely vile. After realising the same whilst on her market stall with it in her sandwiches, she tried to feed some to the market pigeons. The scabby feral pigeons that will eat fag butts and pick through pavement pizzas. They wouldn't touch it with a barge pole either. I dunno what brand it was, and maybe there are vegan cheeses which are OK, but it's put me right off trying any more!

as an omnivore, i avoid pepperami and fridge raiders, choosing instead to die of hunger, it little surprise that when you replace the 'meat' element with something else its inedible.

but i do appreciate your work in confirming this to me 🙂

fridge raiders are fine, the veganarmi is, well, just don't expect a pepperami. more like a slightly pepperami flavoured thin cold hotdog.

Vege chorizo sausages for the same description. On every level disgusting. Who got paid to sign that off needs a P45.

However, Kings vegan Jerky I do recommend.
