I managed to get cheap trips up to Edinburgh and down to Leeds (Royal Armouries).
You need to do a bit of searching and to use that page to get the £1 tickets to show up.
There seems to be better availability to/from some stations than others. Couldn't get a trip to York but could get to Leeds!
Problem is the train will most likely either be 1. extremely delayed, 2. dangerously overcrowded, or 3. cancelled outright.
Thanks, just got a return ticket from Lockerbie to Sheffield for a work thing for £2. Times are annoying but for £2 I can live with that 😀
Cheers. Just got a full family of 5 a day trip from York to Manchester for £7 return.
I'm sure it'll cost me a lot more than that in food and shopping once we're there though!
Also, I didn't realise how far transpennine routes actually go.

Thanks: Manc - Leeds is a twice weekly commute for me, so this has saved me loads! £1 a trip may just about be reasonable value for money given the service...
Thanks. Bagged a trip for tha family to Leeds (haven't been overnight since I lived there 20 years ago) £47 for return train and Premier Inn for a night at half term.
3 times out of 5 now TPX have cancelled the 9.33 from Lockerbie to Glasgow. Its the first train of the day from the depot, so no excuse, its just lack of staff, or staff not turning up. Avanti are only just slightly better, they run the 8.14 from lockerbie, we should have been on it today, but it was cancelled at Stafford, yet the one at 7.10 ran almost to time, so no problems on the line. Our trip to Glasgow didnt happen today.
