Ride in the morning, brunch with friends, f1, Sunday lunch, ride, top gear.
Belated fathers' day happiness :o)
Yay!
And Luther on Tuesday.
Top gear: an excellent excuse for a read.
checks remote still works and the off button ...breathes sigh of relief
Hope they show the one where Cleggy goes down the hill in an old bath. Classic!
Top Gear threads = tattoo threads for people who don't like something but must comment anyway?
Top gear: an excellent excuse for a thread.
FTFY 😀
I like; unoffensive silly telly that whole family can enjoy an element of.
Oh come on, Sundays wouldn't be the same without the loverz v haterz Top Gear thread. 🙂
well it's at least worth watching the first episode of a new series, that's the one where they put the effort in, but they'll use up all their creativity by the end and the rest of the series will be the same old knob jokes, xenophobia and general asshattery.
good one, still trying to get last seasons watched!
Junkie is Keyser Söze, and I claim my £5...
😉
I look forward to annoying the girlfriend with Top Gear soon.
Excellent love a bit of Top Gear.
I expect them to be even less funny than the previous season. They have become masters of plumbing the depths. One thinks to oneself that they surely can't be any shitter, less funny, more scripted than previously. Yet every year, they manage it.
It's all part of the 'magic'
No doubt done before but I love it that much:
Thats the w/e's TV sorted for a while, TDF & Top Gear.
Who could ask for more?
Bearnecessities:

So do I, and that is exactly why TG is turned off. I find some of the "humour" on TG extremely offensive. Was there not an incident in relation to Mexico last year?
I actually used to love TG when I was a kid and we watched it as a family, that was when it was actually about cars and was family viewing not just a "vehicle" (pun intended :-)) for massaging overpaid, pompous presenter's egos under a pseudo lads mag veneer on national TV.
It's been ruined since they went to the open floor studio format and got that Hammond involved, he seems to inspire Clarkson (who is actually funny off the programme) to become a big knobber.
It wouldn't surprise me if they got a few "babes" sprawled over the bonnet of a body kitted Nova soon. It's heading in that direction!! 😀
My 10 year old will be pleased. He gets the humour and likes sports cars. I'm pretty sure he's in the target demographic.

Yes! House.
All from one paragraph.
Was that a cut and paste daily mail editorial? I think you're right though, they should ditch the enormously successful format which has been exported around the globe and earned the BBC millions to spend on programming, and go back to a format unchnaged from the 70s that so few people watched it got cancelled.
It's great that it earns the BBC money. It shows that you can earn money from any old shite.
To save copying and pasting you could just read this.

He's not even a real hamster.
Well I for one am grateful, that's my sunday evening viewing booked, thanks Pook!
And there's no competition with Mr Selfridge this time!
brakes - Memberknob jokes, xenophobia and general asshattery.
What's not to like?!
Great! Love it when it's back on as it serves a useful social service. I think the BBC has finally realised that the serial offended need their own programme. Can't wait for the moaners thread after, though they seem to be warming up already, perhaps the Daily Mail is not upsetting them today. Seldom see it until its shown as continuous repeats on Dave, helps me get through some seriously boring jobs. 🙂
Place your bets now - who will we be offended on behalf of this time Monday morning?
I'm predicting it will be the residents of Cwmbran. Or perhaps some Chechens.
I can't believe I used the word 'asshattery', next I'll be calling people 'oxygen thieves'. Bell-end.
I truly, really and sincerely hope that this series is good.
It does serve an excellent social function. As does usage of the term "serially offended".
I find some of the "humour" on TG extremely offensive. Was there not an incident in relation to Mexico last year?
Go on then I'll ask.
This program, that you don't like, so obviously don't watch.....
Which bits of it exactly have you found "extremely offensive" ?
I would genuinely like to know.
I think Top Gear would be better if they shifted focus to the cars, rather than the presenters performing their usual tired roles in contrived and predicatable features.
I used to really enjoy it, but felt it got a bit repetitive and the presenters became caricatures. I'll still watch for the new cars though.
Oh come on, Sundays wouldn't be the same without the loverz v haterz Top Gear thread.
Am I allowed to think it's a little bit dull?

+1, its hilarious and bizarre at the same time
There's plenty of crap on the tv, I'd say 90% is bobbins, yet Top Gear seems to rile like no other tv show
I don't know why they can't change channel whenever it's on
I personally like the poor humour, mindless ragging of cars, blatant sexism etc etc
Bloody Marvelous. I'll be back from a lond weekend away, already got some beers in. Score!
Bump in time for the usual suspectzzzz.
Top Gear and Glastonbury in the same weekend.......the rage on here might just melt the servers
(I for one welcome our car driving overlords)
Replace Hammond with Plato.
And keep the pregnant ones
??? ?????? ?????????? ?????. ????? ??????.
+1
I'm sure the haters would rather be watching Time Team or The logging on to some shipping website to see what ships are due in at the docks.... 😆

Nah, some of us will watch it so we can patiently explain to the loverz why it's so shit. 🙂
Is there a race with a really really close finish this evening?
Or driving fast cars properly instead of 'now look at this Porsche that I need a 40m wide runway to corner round'?
Get Plato onboard
People posting how much they dislike Top Gear on a thread about said programme, strange.
What was that Hammond gag i kept missing, when Clarkson said time for the news?

I expect it was too sophisticated for you CM 🙂

Joss Stone - best chassis so far
EDIT: although Rachel Riley does have nicer bumpers
RACHEL RILEY!!!!!!
no aretha Franklin though.

Whose the bird in the pink top?
(Whoof)
Oops missed this... is it repeated anywhere?
The usual curates egg
Rachel Riley is glorious 😛
Well.. I enjoyed it.
ahh bollucks. Was Rachel Riley on it? Only reason I watch Broadcast telly (semi-sarcasm).
Got to have been the worst programe for years, and im a supporter of clarkson and may.
DISAPOINTING WASTE OF TIME AND EFFORT.

Got to have been the worst programe for years
not possible, this one actually had a test!
I laughed when he took the Corolla offroad
the rest I scowled at
even May couldn't be bothered with the launch of the new reasonably priced car
I'm happy though as this means the luverz will really struggle to find something good to say about it
I was disappointed they didn't take the 205, 5 and XR2 out but still enjoyed the rest of it.
I'm disappointed its not on iplayer yet.
Rachel Riley...
Swoon.
I quite like Top Gear.
It's not always great, but its much more fun to watch than Fifth Gear.
It can't be easy coming up with new stuff to do.
Cars are like many thinks in life........ it's much more fun to do than watch.
Warwick Davies taking the p!ss out of Hammond for being 'a bit short' was brilliant.
That boat looked a really awful place to be. At least May understood he was just ballast and didn't try to pretend he could contribute in any way.
great episode and a proper test for once...
give me the ST over the other two any day!

Jimmy Carr's "super powers" comment was brilliantly un-politically correct

I can imagine that being on an AC45 in waves is a fairly tough place to be for 3 hours let alone 10 or 12. TBF the guys sailing it did a proper job. I was waiting for a bit with some flat water so could really let it go but there just wasn't any.
Junkyard - lazaruschecks remote still works and the off button ...breathes sigh of relief
You`ve got a remote ?
Was average but I now know I easily afford a small hot hatch and cover the extra fuel cost.
It's not always great, but its much more fun to watch than Fifth Gear.
In about 6 months, 5th will feature a race between a car and a boat.
the test was the worst bit, partly because they had the GTI, 5 Turbo and XR2 in the studio but didn't use them - very disappointing. but mainly because I just didn't believe what they said about the ST being better. they gave no real reason why it was any better which just makes me cynical about why it was chosen as the best - probably because it's not French.
Seems as good a reason as any, to be fair
If you asked me what I remember about last nights episode?
A bored and pissed off looking Sir Ben
My favourite hobby, hire cars.
Thats it.
Nah, some of us will watch it so we can patiently explain to the loverz why it's so shit
Thats a pretty tragic indictment on your own life there Sir. Using your time to do nothing less than antagonise someone else, sad - very sad.
Did you miss the smiley on the end? And all my subsequent posts about how crap it was?
🙂
