Following on from the check shirts for riding thread a couple of weeks back....

Was passing TK earlier so popped in to look for tees and jeans (got neither). However, they seem to have a decent selection of check shirts in at the moment. Well, Chesterfield does, but guessing they mostly have similar stock

I picked up three, they are a nice heavy weight and (although they don't feel like it) are mostly polyester/acrylic mix so may even do a job on the bike, albeit I haven't bought them specifically for that. The last one has a bit of cotton and wool thrown into the mix. £35 each

Selfies for Mrs Str's benefit while trying on

Also got a nice army green zip up Farah hoodie for £25

You’re in illustrious company - Royal warrant?
Joking aside, TK is a decent source, and the Folk brand is good.

I did chuckle when I heard some news story last week that checked shirts were coming into fashion again.

It's all I've worn since grunge hit in 1991. It'll be nice to be trendy again

nice shirts but does the cut work when in the riding position?, the best have a bit of stretch to accommodate being bent forward and longer arms to stop wrist gap. press studs are better too so you can open while riding for some heat dissipation

I'll try on the bike and report back. These were bought for casual to be honest and yeah if I was buying specifically, I'd definitely go for some stretch and poppers. They are long in the arm though, they have to be anyway for my arms

Just zoom in on the pattern on that one if its on your list. It's a bit of a weird optional illusion - like dot art. Looks different close up to how it does from a distance

They have others also if you search though

Went in today, the Common People ones are very heavyweight. The Folk sizing is all over the show. 3 is M, 4 is L etc. Tried a shirt in 4 and the 5 was slightly smaller! Nice though.

The Common People ones are marketed as shackets online.

The Folk one, I thought I'd gone for a medium (which fits), whereas the CP's are Large

It's actually black although maybe fading a bit, but probably the lights. Anyhow, no mate, it's a North Face from Millets (or probably many other places)
