Check-it, check-it, check-it.

Superbad is one of my all time faves. Ignore the moral lesson(s) and its sublimely epic IMO. The rolling dialogue from the start for instance 😀

What's it about? Saw the trailers, but it just looks like a stupid kid's comedy to me. Is it actually any good?

Mrshora replied WHY THE **** DO YOU WANT TO WATCH THAT &*£$ WHEN YOU OWN THE DVD?

Ah, ladies don't understand us blokes 🙂

Elfin, watch the first 20mins. Don't expect big comedy, relax and it'll roll over and capture you.

Well, the trouble is, Hora's saying it's excellent. That's a bit like Maggie Thatcher saying Augusto Pinnochet was a nice chap....

D'you see the problem here?

The good thing about it is you'll have love it or loathe it. Admittedly it has a tiny-percentage of the teen-flick (annoying) however the scripting/dialogue more than overcome this.

You guys do realise when Jonathan Ross was presenting World Cinema awards recently I thought it was like visual/sensational romp through cinema.. 🙂

Really it was that that put me off as much as the rest.

Hmm, a quick look on IMDB suggests that it might indeed be properly shit.

Sorry, Hora; but you don't have a good track record when it comes to matters of taste, do you? Certainly not films, anyway.

Mind, there's not a lot else on really.

It's got a rating of 7.8/10? At what imdb rating do you think a film is worth watching?

I also love how the main characters are the opposite of cool. Not good looking, well dressed or build. Geeks.

I never go by ratings. I'm imagining it may be properly shit, from it's plot synopsis. It doesn't strike me as the knid of film that could be considered a great work of cinema.

HOWEVER

Having never seen it, I should of course reserve any judgement. Perhaps I shall give it a go.

And if it is shit, Hora owes me two hours now let's see Sunday rates so that's call it £50 an hour, Hora. Assuming 20 mins or so for ads. £100 quid Hora owes me, if I think it's shit (the true indicator of quality).

Everybody agreed?

No thank you Hora. Cash will be fine.

Besides, Binners tells me that you're actually, erm, how can I say this; a bit of a disappointment, to put it kindly. Sorry.

Saw this on the EPG earlier, and it sounded dreadful from the (i)nformation. Is it worth watching then, or shall I carry on Star Trekkin'?

It's a marmite film. Oh, and definitely better if you're drunk.

Fair enough - always good to have one's own opinion - it's not the sort of film that would ever win an oscar, or one you would call a great work of cinema, however personally speaking I spent a lot of time laughing at it!

One of the cheesiest films that I have ever seen turns into one of the best.

Savior.

Appalling start- B movie. Then it suddenly turns into masterclass, slows right down with an amazing classical score and music.

The part where his family are killed in the cafe by a bomb etc- naff

Everytime I've watched this I've gotten very drunk.

Yeah but in fairness, Titanic got twelve Oscars. Whilst the seminal classic, a true monument of British Cinematic Glory, the wonder that is Rita, Sue and Bob Too, got none. Proving that Oscars are no indicator of quality, and that Elfinsafety's opinion is. See?

Superbad is a film that I would normally hate, but is in fact really quite good. Just give it a try.

The same think happened when I watched Crank, I thought I'd hate it, but really found it quite good.

Titanic on the other hand, wll never be good, even when drunk. The bit when the boat sinks is ok though. 😆

McLovin - "what's it like having a gun?"

Cop- "awesome - it's like having two cocks but one of cocks can kill people"

Pissed myself at this.

Christ that was terrible. I laughed so hard when the fat kid got knocked down though. His constant swearing was really winding me up.

Not good looking, well dressed or build. Geeks.

NERDS FOR JESUS H CHRIST'S SAKE! NERDS!!!!!
Geeks are smart, useful, succesful and coherent. They make the modern world turn. We would not be having this conversation online if it wasn't for geeks. 99% of stuff that people talk about involve technology that some geek thought up. We totally ****ing rule and we are good looking, we have muscles and we know how to dress!!!

Seriously though Hora owes me £60, and I ****ing want it now.

If you actually find that funny, then you're very easily amused. The 'jokes' are contrived and stupidly obvious, yet not even well delivered. And it doesn't go nearly far enough with the humour; if you wanna shock, then bloody well shock. It doesn't even work on that 'so bad it's good' level.

Apparently it's from the same people what done 40 YO Virgin and Talladega Nights. 40YOV wasn't great, but had the odd slightly amusing moment, but TN was truly, truly shit.

Should've listened to me own instincts. Once again, I am right. Mind, the fact that Hora thinks it's brilliant was warning enough really. Oh well.

It reminded me of that other woeful film of US teenage angst, Porky's. That was also shit.

Shirley STW'ers can ALL identify with growing up like that at School/college?

No Hora; it's just you that identifies with a fat kid who can't get laid... 😉
