I quite liked mine, until it got a sizeable crack across the seat tube...  Reasonabe geometry, could do with being a bit slacker and longer but as a first bike that's a great deal.

Sadly, the crash replacement is only for first owner, and I got it from here.

Anyone bought one?

I'm thinking about getting one for my 10 year old son. He's just under 4'11" so am torn between the XS and S. I've read that the Jamis has a short top tube but also from experience, full sus bikes have a higher standover compared to hardtails.

So XS or S?

@didnthurt my son's the same age and height, he rides the XS.

Coming off a Vitus 24 it looked huge initially. Fitted a 100mm Brand X dropper with about 140mm of post between seat clamp and saddle rail.

Great little bike for the money.

Great PSA, but I get

"Unfortunately an error has occurred
This coupon does not provide a discount against your basket"

So have saved even more money by closing the basket without checking out - Phew! 😉

Yeah, Millets et al often get the discount codes wrong for a short period or time and then correct it.  If you're serious I'd say put a search alert on one of the deals websites for millets and a new discount code will be along soon which again for a short period of time may work on this bike.

This is my first/only/current FS mtb, I bought it in 2019 and the frame hasn't been updated since.  I like it but then I have nothing to compare it to.  It's "on budget" and by this I mean that I washed my mates lapierre (which yes, I am sure was twice the price) one day after an alps trip and every part of the bike was superior/more substanially built.

It's fits the amount of time I get out riding perfectly but I think given my time again I'd have saved up and got a better bike.

Head says buy this. Heart says pay more to get him a Gen 3 Trek Marlin 8 (has more moden geometry and has a dropper).

NBD for my riding buddy’s daughter. That’s one lucky girl. I’ve got to say I’m very impressed with it; the paint finish is good, the headset was greased and the gears were set up correctly.

@doomanic - are they/you Manchester based, by any chance?

I bumped into a group on a ride round Clayton Vale earlier on in the summer. She was christening that exact bike and my daughter was christening her considerably less pimpy but considerably pinker new bike. We had a chat by the cafe

They look like a nice bit of kit and a steal at that price

I was very tempted by these for my 9 yr old (10 in December) but the Vitus 26 was on sale with an additional code.

My 10 year old is desperate for a full suss... Shame they don't have his side. Would have been perfect.

Just been talking to one of our neighbours tonight. Her lad  has been getting into his biking over the last couple of years, which is great to see. he’s regularly popping round to borrow my workstand and tools

She was looking to upgrade him to a full suss from his Trek hardtail and told me they’ve just bought a Jamis Dakar today from Go Outdoors for £680. He’s absolutely made up!
