Loved the LOTR films but these Hobbit films are utter bobbins IMO.

Having at through LOTR I struggle to understand why anyone would want to watch more films of he same, especially ones which are even longer and more drawn out.

Because they loved LOTR and wished they were more drawn out and even longer?

Used to be, films came out edited down and then out came the definitive director's cut edition. For the Hobbit I'm hoping for an editor's cut, all 3 films condensed into 2, maybe 2 and a half hours with all the random extra crap taken out and burned.

Could understand making three films out of three books (or one three-part book), even if they were boring and overlong.

But taking one short novel and dragging it out of three films?

Well, yes, that's exactly why. But as far as me watching them goes, no thanks.

Exactly. Might actually be quite good.
